Chromium Oxides an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
The mining of chromium ore started in India and Southern Africa around 1906. Today, roughly one third to one half of the chromite ore in the world is produced from South Africa; Kazakhstan, India, and Turkey are also substantial producers (ATSDR, 2002). Approximately 15 million tons of marketable chromite ore were produced in 2003 (ICDA, 2005).
